Gladys Smith Kirkham, age 94 , of Arkadelphia, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 in Arkadelphia. She was born July 12, 1917 in the Richwoods Community near Arkadelphia, the daughter of the late Jim and Ruth Ann Hicks Smith.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-nine years, Johnnie Kirkham in 1980. They farmed together in west Texas and after moving back to Arkadelphia, she was a longtime salesperson with Tom Chandler Shoe Store in Arkadelphia. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Survivors include two nieces and one nephew.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, November 8th at Shiloh Cemetery near Arkadelphia with Bro. Stan Esclante officiating. Visitation will be 1:00-2:30 PM Tuesday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church or to Shiloh Cemetery Fund.
