Glenda Louise Orrell Ham

Glenda Louise Orrell Ham, age 81, of Hot Springs, passed away in her home on January 15, 2024. She was born on December 6, 1942, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Levi and Cecil Reynolds Orrell. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Bill Ham, Sr.; and three brothers: Jessie Orrell, Kenneth Orrell, and Austin Orrell. 

She is survived by her children: Lisa and Byron Hudson, Richard and Margeana Hester, Jennifer and Jeff Lively, Bill Ham, Jr., and Devon Daniels; ten grandchildren: Jay Hudson, Allen Hudson, Skyler Fowler, Jemzee Barrett, Jil Treece, Julianna Terry, Jayme Treece, Kristy Hudson, Zac Ham, and Ashley Daniels; eleven great-grandchildren, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends. 

Having attended Lake Hamilton High School, Glenda graduated in 1961 and became a lifelong resident of our community. She was a lovingly dedicated daughter, sister, mother, aunt, Mamaw, and friend. We were all blessed to have had her in our lives. 

Glenda’s career was marked by dedication and hard work. She was a talented baker and cake decorator at Kroger for 30 years. The attention to detail and love she put into her cake decorating made each one look like a work of art. Glenda was also a talented seamstress who enjoyed making clothes for herself and her family and was often hired to make clothes for others as well. She had a gift for growing roses and took great pride in caring for them. She also loved keeping large aquariums filled with varied marine life and beautiful fish. The most important thing she did was keep her focus on her family. They were everything to her, and her grandchildren were most definitely the greatest joy of her life.

Pallbearers will be family: Jay Hudson, Allen Hudson, Skyler Fowler, Brad VanDee, C.J. Knabe, and Zach Kalas. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM officiated by Dr. Shane Robertson in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.  Visitation will be 1:00 PM, prior to the service. 

Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sunshine.
