Glenn Frederic Winkler, 72, of Sherwood, Arkansas; died March 9, 2017. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 18, 1944. He is preceded in death by parents John and Lillian and brother George of Omaha.
Glenn was a loving husband, brother, step-father and neighbor. He graduated from Omaha Technical High School in 1963 and worked as a machinist/welder for Union Pacific Railroad from 1963-2003.
Glenn had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and enjoy his time with family and friends and working on projects around the house in his retirement. He also enjoyed watching sports and supporting his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers and Green Bay Packer football teams. In the nearly 30 years as a resident of Arkansas he also became an avid fan of the Razorbacks.
Survivors include his wife Connie Winkler of Sherwood, Arkansas; step-son Michael Jacobs of Omaha, Nebraska; sister Julie Hurner of Columbus, Nebraska; brothers Pete and Ken of Omaha, Nebraska, Bob and Ed of Sherwood, Arkansas and Johnny of Nashville, Tennessee.
