Gloria Jean Barnes, age 86, passed away in Oceanside, California on February 16, 2013. Born in Little Rock on October 2, 1926 to Sam and Mae Harmon, she was a graduate of Mt. Saint Mary's Academy, a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church for over 40 years, and lived in Little Rock most of her life. She is survived by her older son, Harry Williams of Oceanside, his wife, Susan, grandchildren, John Fuller of Morgan City, Louisiana, Matthew Williams of Columbus, Georgia, Rachel Francoeur of Oceanside, and great- granddaughter, Maiya Francoeur of Oceanside. She is also survived by her younger son, Kit Williams, of Dallas, Texas, his wife, Nancy, grandchildren, Scott Williams of Cottonwood, Arizona and Mary Williams of Dallas.
Following a funeral Mass in Oceanside, there will be a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery in Little Rock on Saturday, March 2 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Msgr. Lawrence A. Frederick. In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made to Catholic High School in Little Rock or to the charity of your choice.
