Gwendolyn Linda McDaniel, a beloved mother, cherished wife, and a foundational pillar of her family, passed away on August 23, 2025, in Bauxite, Arkansas. Born on July 15, 1949, in Pontiac, Michigan, Gwendolyn embodied resilience and determination throughout her life. She was a proud machinist for Kohler, dedicating many years to her craft before retiring in 2017. Gwendolyn's journey was marked not only by her professional achievements but also by her unwavering commitment to her family—a role that she embraced wholeheartedly.
With a spirit that resonated deeply with those who knew her, Gwendolyn had a personality that was both nurturing and genuine. She was known for always stating what was on her mind in her distinctive manner, which endeared her to family and friends alike. Gwendolyn was not just a great cook but also an all-around remarkable woman, whose love and warmth touched everyone around her. She earned her GED in 2004, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and education, a value she undoubtedly instilled in her loved ones.
Gwendolyn will be remembered fondly for her hobbies and interests, which brought her joy and comfort. She had a passion for playing the lottery and spent countless hours watching "Little House on the Prairie" and Western movies, relishing the comfort and nostalgia they provided. Her love for life extended to the beauty of nature, as she took great pleasure in caring for her plants, nurturing them much like she nurtured her family.
Her legacy is carried on by her devoted husband, Robert McDaniel Sr., and her loving children, Ernestine Johnson, Frankzola Johnson, and Herbert McDaniel. Gwendolyn was also a proud grandmother to many, including Eric Crigler, Andrea Jordan, Kyshawn Johnson, Damonte Johnson, Shantaya McDaniel, Alexis McDaniel, and Marquis McDaniel, along with a host of great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
As we gather to honor Gwendolyn's life, her memory will forever remain alive in our hearts. We invite family and friends to join us for visitation on August 28, 2025, beginning at 8:30 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home in Little Rock, Arkansas. Following the visitation, a burial will take place at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock at 10:00 AM, where she will be laid to rest.
Gwendolyn Linda McDaniel touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and the importance of family that will endure for generations to come. She now joins her parents, Max and Mamie Tucker, and her late son, Harold Tucker, and late grandson Herbert "Max" McDaniel in eternal peace. Her vibrant spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
