Gwenneth Price-Picard, 88, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away June 15, 2026. She was a devoted clinical social worker and cherished member of the Little Rock community. Born on September 24, 1937, in De Queen, Arkansas, Gwen’s life was marked by a profound commitment to her profession, her faith, and her many personal passions.

Gwen pursued her higher education with distinction, graduating from Texas Woman's University and earning her master’s degree in social work from the University of Tennessee. Her career spanned over four decades in Little Rock, where she made significant contributions through her work at Professional Counseling Associates and later in her career through private practice. An early advocate of Family Systems counseling, Gwen's pioneering spirit and compassionate guidance left a lasting impact on countless individuals and families.

Beyond her professional achievements, Gwen was a remarkable woman known for her forthrightness and strength of character. Those who knew her appreciated her direct manner—always confident and competent. She possessed a rare blend of talents: a connoisseur of single malt Scotch Whisky, a creative quilter, and an ardent lover of British history, ranging from ancient times to the era of World War II. She loved to travel and she and Dick both became intrigued with the Muslim culture and history.

Gwen and her husband of 41 years, Richard “Dick” Picard, were long-standing, active members of Christ Episcopal Church in Little Rock. Among Gwen’s many contributions to the church community was the founding of the “Books and Bifocals” book club, which fostered fellowship and learning. She also established “Ellen’s Little Freezer (ELF),” demonstrating her nurturing spirit and commitment to service. Outside the church, Gwen volunteered as a docent at The Clinton Presidential Library for several years, an opportunity she treasured deeply, reflecting her strong support for President Clinton.

Her family and loved ones remember Gwen warmly. She is survived by her husband, Dick Picard, and stepchildren Gretta, Gwen, Kateri, and Therese, as well as a host of other family members and friends who continue to hold her in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Francis Price, and her stepson, Timothy.

A memorial service to honor Gwen’s life will be held on June 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM followed by a reception in the church hall at Christ Episcopal Church, located at 509 Scott Street, Little Rock, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.  Friends and all whose lives were touched by Gwen are invited to gather in remembrance of a truly extraordinary woman who left a profound legacy in both her professional and personal life.

Gwenneth Price-Picard’s life stands as a testament to dedication, intellect, and unwavering commitment to those she loved and served. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit and influence endure among all who were fortunate to know her.
