Hansel Clayborn Hill of Alpine went home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2013. Hansel was born on July 12, 1932 in Chalybeate Valley to Henry and Agnes (Jackson) Hill. He was a Air Force Veteran, worked in lumber industry and owned Hansel Hill Roofing. He is a member of Chalybeate Valley Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He has been a Director on South Central Electric Cooperative since 1987.
Hansel was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Agnes (Jackson) Hill and one brother.
Hansel is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen (Meddley) Hill, two sons, Steve (Helen) Hill of Alpine, Michael Hill of Trinity and one daughter Theresa (Keith) Sutton of Alexander. He was blessed with 6 grandsons, Quinten Hill, Josh Kizer, Blake Hill, Brandon Hill, Shaun Kizer and Daniel Hill, 4 step grandsons and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers Tilmon (Billie) Hill, Richard (Florence) Hill of Tyler, Texas and one sister Vernell McClure of Alpine and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Josh Kizer, Blake Hill, Brandon Hill, Daniel Hill, Zach Sutton and Steve Kelly. Honorary Pallbearers are Quinten Hill, Shaun Kizer and the Board of Directors of the South Central Electric Cooperative.
Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday July 28, at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, in the Ruggles -Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Melvin Markham and Brother Charlie Williams officiating. Interment will be at Hill Cemetery south of Alpine.
