Harishchandra Salgaonkar

Harishchandra Salgaonkar, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on June 15, 1937, in Vengurla, India, Harishchandra's journey through life was marked by dedication to his family and a passion for the simple joys that brought him happiness.

After completing his education, Harishchandra moved to Mumbai, where he married his dear wife, Vijaya, with whom he shared a loving partnership for 57 years. Together, they built a life filled with shared dreams and cherished moments. Harishchandra dedicated his professional life to his role as a bank manager until his retirement, a position he held with pride and integrity.

Harishchandra was a devoted husband and father, always placing his family at the forefront of his priorities. He delighted in spending time with them, sharing his interests in Hollywood movies and cricket matches. His love for the game of cricket was well known in his family, often leading to spirited discussions and friendly debates, bringing generations together over a shared passion.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Vijaya Salgaonkar; his son, Ashish Salgaonkar; and his cherished grandchildren, Jaya Salgaonkar and Ajay Salgaonkar. They, along with all who knew him, will remember his warm heart and the laughter he brought into their lives.

Harishchandra's memory will live on in the hearts of his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Pundalik Salgaonkar; his mother, Janaki Salgaonkar; his child, Abhay Salgaonkar; and his brothers, Dinanath Salgaonkar and Pandurang Salgaonkar. His legacy of love, dedication, and resilience serves as an inspiration to all who had the honor of knowing him.

A funeral service to honor Harishchandra's life will take place on January 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Smith Little Rock Family Funeral Home, located at 8801 Knoedl Ct., Little Rock, AR 72205. Family and friends are invited to celebrate a life well-lived and to support one another as they remember the profound impact he made on their lives.
