Harlon D. "Nightowl" Pounds

Harlon D. "Nightowl" Pounds of Kirby, AR passed away on August 6, 2025. He was born on May 26, 1942 to Audrey J. Pounds and Vela Ledbetter Pounds.

He is preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his son, Jeffery Pounds; his sister, Carolyn Lock; and his brother, Larry Pounds.

Harlon married the love of his life, Bonnie Duggan Pounds on August 4, 1961. He attended Midway Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, fisher, and outdoorsman. Most of all he loved being a family man and "pappy" to his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, pappy, brother, uncle, and friend and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Harlon is survived by his son, David (Kim) Pounds; his daughter, Sheri Smith; his seven grandchildren, Dustin (Krisann) Pounds, Johnathan (Tiffany) Pounds, Josh Pounds, Harley Chambers, Lauren Hix, Haley (Brian) Smith, Misty (Cristo) Childers, and Kayla Pounds; his sixteen great-grandchildren, Sunshine (Korey), Austin, Chelsea, Jaydyn, Jathan, Curtis, Davey, Gabriel, Annalise, Kayley, Treyson, Lilian, Aidien, Elijah, and Nova; two great-great-grandchildren, Klayton and Mary; his two sisters, Patsy Alexander and Paula (Billy) Barrett; his two brothers, Jerry (Carla) Pounds and Doyle Pounds; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Coker Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Lock and Bro. Brian Pounds officiating.
