Harold Charles

Harold Charles 78 of Sherwood AR went to his heavenly home Thursday January 19, 2017. He was loved and cherished by his family and friends.
Born in 1938 on the side of a mountain in Higdon Arkansas, Harold was the first child of Lucille and Carroll Charles. At the age of 18 he left his family and went into the United States Air Force. He was stationed in England and met the love of his life Yvonne. She followed him to America and became his bride. Throughout the next 10 years they had three children. Wayne, Jane and Penny. He held many jobs throughout his 78 years. Store clerk, Policeman, Contractor, Restaurant Owner, just to name a few. But the job he loved the most was being a Husband and Father. He loved to hunt, fish and tell people about Jesus. He never met a stranger and if he picked on you, it was because he liked you. His pockets were always full of Candy and if there was a certain kind of candy you liked and he found out he would ALWAYS have it. If you were lucky enough to go fishing with him you knew that #1 you didn't wear socks, only shoes. #2 You counted your fish by the 5-gallon bucket full, not per fish and #3 You had to learn the right way to hold your mouth. If you did those three things you were assured of having a great day fishing! His grandkids meant the world to him and he made sure they knew it. He would not want us to mourn him but to remember the good times we had with him. I believe that if he could stand before us today he would say three things: Be ready, Love with all your heart and don't forget to laugh.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Yvonne Charles of Sherwood, Daughters Jane Koba and Penny Ussery and one son Wayne Charles. Son-in-laws Robert Ussery and Namir Koba. Granddaughters, Lauren Ussery, Veronica Barganier and Tiffany Koba. Grandsons Christopher Charles, Nicholas and Nathan Koba. Great Grand Children: Alyssa and Brenden Charles and Emma and Myleigh Koba. Brothers: J.W. Charles, Richard Charles, Sisters Eloise Davidson and Mary Ann Swaim.
He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father Carroll and Lucille Charles and one brother Sonny Charles.
