Harold E. Shepherd age 85 of Arkadelphia died Thursday, June 16, 2011 in Arkadelphia. He was born August 23, 1925 in Fendley, AR the son of Jessie Elmore and Lea Onia "Onie" Deaton Shepherd. He was the owner and operator of Arkadelphia Plumbing and Heating, a Mason, former Assistant Chief of the Arkadelphia Fire Department and member of the Arkadelphia Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Nellie Ogle, Chris Lookadoo and Marge Francis, two brothers, Ollie J. Shepherd and Clyde Shepherd.
Survivors include his wife Frances Shepherd, one son Ron Shepherd and his wife Lisa of Decatur, AL, one daughter Terri Evans of Benton, two sisters, Jean Walter of Lafayette, CA and Christell Corn of Arkadelphia, four grandchildren, Ashley Plyler, Amanda Shepherd, Cody Evans and Blake Shepherd, one great grandchild, Kennedy Plyler.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Brother Jim Buie officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Arkadelphia Fire Department.
