Harold David Taylor, age 76 of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on March 20, 2015 in Tulsa. He was born February 11, 1939 near Briartown, Oklahoma; and he was the son of George Washington Taylor and Augusta Benton-Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a retired truck driver, who enjoyed his many years of trucking that allowed him to travel and meet many wonderful people, along with several of his favorite famous country musicians. Harold was a natural born story teller, while others collected items and trinkets, he collected memories and stories. Harold loved people, and never met a stranger; he had an incredible memory for details.
In the mid-1990's Harold found the Lord Jesus Christ. He used his gifts of relating to people and storytelling to minister to others in need. Over and over he shared the details of his journey to the Lord and sobriety. at AA meetings he became a sought after guest speaker. He lived the remainder of his life free from the desire for alcohol and the problems that had caused him earlier. He lived his life making amends, helping those around him on their journeys to live without it. By this service to his fellow man, he truly "paid it forward."
He loved horses, anything and everything about them. As a small child, his mother found him asleep clutching a bridle. As an adult, he broke and trained many wild ones and worked on several area ranches.
He is preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and sisters, Johnny, Herman, Louise, Jimmy Ray, Olen, Kenneth, Billy and Ola Mae.
Survivors include his brothers Jerry Taylor of Bonney Lake, Washington and Bobby Jo Taylor of Muskogee, Oklahoma, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
