Harry Max Shinn

October 26, 1935 — March 17, 2017

Harry Max Shinn, age 81, of Glenwood, formerly of Danville, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 26, 1935 in Havana, Arkansas, the son of the late Virgil Shinn and Ima Frazier Shinn. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ida (King) Shinn of Glenwood; his son, Max Shinn, II of Danville; his daughter, Andi Shinn of Glenwood; his grandson, Aaron Shinn of Danville; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Barger Tygart of Dallas, Texas and Nell and James Mosley of Atlanta, Georgia; his brother-in-law, Dan King and wife, Dorothy of Searcy; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Always a stoic and quiet man, Max left this earth with bravery and dignity. Never wanting to be the center of attention, he requested there be no funeral or memorial service. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 628 Malvern Ave., Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
