Helen Allene Gay, age 96, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed from this life to her eternal home on March 29, 2008. She was born in Little Rock on December 23, 1911. Allene was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years O.C. ?Buster?, a son Richard Arthur Gay, and a granddaughter Karen Powers.
She is survived by hers sons Marvin Gay and wife Leslie of New Orleans, LA., and Robert Gay and wife Peggy of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Debora (Mike) Staton of Conyers, GA., Ashley (Sean) Davis of Tampa, FL., Jason (Chari) Gay of St. Louis, Mo., Stuart (Angela) Gay of New Orleans, LA., and Jarrod (Michelle) Gay of Maumelle, AR. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
She was a loving Christian woman who was totally devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Last, Allene and her family are grateful to the caring staff and residents at Sherwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock, with Reverend Dean Bauer of First Lutheran Church officiating.
Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, 314 E 8th St., Little Rock, AR, or the Alzheimer?s Association.
