Helen Rachilla

Listen to Obituary

Hellen Cantrell Rachilla passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Hellen was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Gillemand and Sue Miller.

She is survived by her devoted partner of more than 21 years, Floyd Baker; her daughter, Debby Cantrell Butler (Mark); her son, Todd Cantrell (Jamie); her brother, Tony Rachilla (Debbie); her sisters, Annette “Annie” Stanfiell and Charlotte Davis; and her beloved grandsons, Blake Butler and Eddie Cantrell. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Born and raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Hellen graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1959. After marrying, she moved to Glenwood, where she became a member of the First Baptist Church of Glenwood and the Glenwood Eastern Star Chapter #396. During her time in Glenwood, she began her banking career at First National Bank, where she was known for her friendly smile and caring nature. Later, she returned to Hot Springs and continued her work with First National Bank there. She was also a faithful member of First United Methodist Church.

Hellen had a classy, warm presence that made everyone feel welcome. She loved animals, cooking, and shopping, and she possessed a wonderful sense of humor. Her beautiful smile and quick wit brought joy to countless family members and friends throughout her life.

More than anything, Hellen’s greatest passion was her family. She treasured being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, taking genuine interest in their activities, accomplishments, and everyday moments. The love and encouragement she gave them will remain one of her greatest legacies.

One of Hellen’s favorite songs was “Old Time Rock and Roll” by Bob Seger, a fitting soundtrack for a woman who enjoyed life, laughter, and good company.

In keeping with Hellen’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Instead, she asked that her family gather together, share stories, and enjoy pie in her memory.
