Henry Allen Dreher, Jr.

August 31, 1935 — February 12, 2023

Bryant, Arkansas

Henry Allen Dreher, Jr., 87, of Bryant, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2023.  He was born August 31, 1935 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Henry Allen Dreher, Sr. and Jamye Manees Dreher Mouser.

Henry was a member of New Life Baptist Church.  After receiving his Associates degree, he went to work at Euclid of Arkansas.  He later went into business for himself and started Dreher Diesel in North Little Rock.  Henry is known as being the best diesel mechanic in Arkansas.  He worked as an engineer on tugboats at Magnolia Marine in Vicksburg, Mississippi for over twenty years.  He retired due to a disability, and began building model tugboats which are still on display.  Henry made such masterpieces that he was commissioned to make models for managers at Magnolia Marine when they retired as a keepsake from the company.  He probably built close to 250 of these model tugboats.  He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, going to the lake, and talking on CB radios.  Henry’s family was most important to him, and he cherished taking family vacations and spending time with them.

Preceding Henry in death are his wife, Roberta Jean Dreher; son, Henry Allen Dreher, III; parents, Henry Allen Dreher, Sr. and Jamye Manees Dreher Mouser; brother, Edward Manees Dreher, Sr.; twin sister, Alma Jane Dreher Myrick.

Henry leaves behind to cherish his memory his children:  Scott Dreher of Bryant, Arkansas, Regina Edmonson and husband Danny of Bryant, Arkansas, and Michael Dreher of Little Rock, Arkansas; four grandchildren:  Tanner Smith and wife Candace of Knoxville, Tennessee, Tad Smith and wife Audri of Benton, Arkansas, Morgan Spillan and husband Kyle of Portland, Oregon, and Kayla Bunker and husband Brent of Conway, Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren:  Addison and Alexis Smith, Teegan, Trace, and Tinlee Smith, Parker Kocsis, and Tyler Bunker; brother, Dixon Morley Dreher of Orange Park, Florida; his precious black cats, Spooky and Angel; and many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who love Henry and will miss him always.

Special gratitude to Dr. John Sims and Dr. Ryan Hall of CARTI, Dr. Joe Nelson of Baptist Clinic in Bryant, Saline Memorial Hospice nurses and staff, and Divine Home Care staff for their loving care of our father.
