Henry Barre

Henry P. Barre, 67, of Maumelle, died May 9, 2011. He was born in Little Rock on July 29, 1943 to the late Henry and Helen Favor Barre. Henry attended Holy Souls Catholic School, graduated from Catholic High in 1961 and attended the University of Arkansas. He was a Vietnam War veteran and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Bainbridge. He later owned and operated Barrco Construction as a residential building contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Ann Moore Barre; twin daughters, Ann Clare Barre Lauer (Brent) and Lara Jayne Barre Garmon (Trey); grandchildren, Lara Caroline and Ellen Elizabeth Lauer, and Abigail Clare, William Henry and Andrew David Garmon; brother, James H. Barre; sisters, Ann B. Shollmier and Mary B. Kelly; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Jayne Scott.
The family will greet friends at the Cathedral of St. Andrew from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday evening, followed by a Rosary service. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 12 at 9:30 a.m. at the Cathedral, followed by interment with Military Honors at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Memorials may be made to the Msgr. Allen Endowment Fund at Holy Souls School, the Humane Society of Pulaski County or to Easter Seals.
