Holly Joy Poindexter, 51, of McRae, Arkansas peacefully slipped away from this life on Sunday, April 12 in her home and surrounded by her dearest loved ones.
Holly is survived by her husband of 36 years Brian Poindexter; her children, Blake Poindexter (wife Jamie), Isaac Poindexter (fiance’ San), Cole Poindexter (wife Maggie), her sister Jessica Peebles (husband Erick), niece Amelia Peebles, and her father Sam Crisler (wife Judy).
She was preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Joy Crisler.
Holly was most known for her warmth, exuberance, and devotion to helping others. She was enamored by nature; rivers and creeks, wildflowers, the majesty of trees, the wonderment of moss, and any rocks she could fit in her pockets. She spent endless hours hiking and had recently begun solo camping. Holly had a knack for finding magic in everything. She had worked many years as an LCSW and eventually in private practice providing therapy for hundreds of patients. She means so much to so many. Holly was a radiant light in any room she entered. She was a comfort to the broken, a companion to the lonely, and a listener to those who felt unheard. The days and years ahead will be immensely difficult in her absence, she would never want anyone to suffer, instead we must choose to find gratitude in the memories of the precious and sacred moments we have been blessed to spend with her.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Smith Westbrook Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home.
