An avid outdoorsman, Homer was happiest under the open sky, whether he was hunting, camping, or casting a line into his favorite fishing spot. He often shared that he felt closest to God when surrounded by the beauty of nature. That same passion and care extended to his backyard garden, where he spent countless hours tending to his crops and taking pride in harvesting fresh tomatoes and purple hull peas to share with those he loved. Whether working in the soil or relaxing at home, Homer always found peace in the simple joys of life, especially while listening to the smooth, timeless melodies of Nat King Cole.
