On June 7,2024 Horace Eugene Taylor went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was 88 years old. He took his last breaths in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.
Horace is survived by his loving wife Erma Taylor (Rettig) of 62 years. His siblings Emmitt James Taylor, Modean Poe, Kathryn Abshure, his sister-in-law Lynn Taylor. He is survived by his children and grandchildren Larry Taylor (Scott, Cheryl,) Sue Taylor (Bonnie, Barbara, Brandi, Carrie, Samantha, Alex), Brenda’s children (Amy, Jamie, David), Marie Lake (Sheena, Shania, Shawna, Nathan) Betty Greenawalt and Randy (Jeramy, Jimmy, Joey ), James Taylor and Tonya (James Jr., Bobby) , Joe Taylor (Sarah, Jessica), Tammy Stralka and John (John, Katie, Jeff, Kristen) Patty Owens (Matt , Nikki). Too numerous to count great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; followed by a host of nieces and nephews. His legacy will last through time.
He is preceded in death by his parents Newt and Beatrice Taylor. His siblings Cletus Taylor, Clotine Cochran (Neal), Linda Welker (Ike). His beloved daughter Brenda Rains, daughter-in-law Gloria Taylor, grandson Neal Taylor, brother-in-law Willie Abshure.
He loved to travel the world and experience all it had to offer. That is only surpassed by his love for his family and the treasured memories he made with every one of them. Horace proudly served his country in the United States Army with a memorable deployment in Germany. He was a heavy equipment operator of the local 150 out of Joliet, Illinois, where he was a member for over 50 years.
His love for our city is evident by the many positions he held in our community. He worked for Beebe Animal Control. He retired from the Beebe Street Department at the ripe old age of 82. He was also an elected Beebe Alderman for many years. Horace retired from public service at the age of 87 by serving as White County Justice of The Peace for many years.
DUE TO A POWER OUTAGE - Visitation will be Monday June 10,2024 from 6 -8 pm at First Church of the Nazarene, 104 Campground Rd., Beebe.
The Memorial Services will be Tuesday June 11, 2024, 2 pm at Beebe First Nazarene Church, Campground Rd., Beebe, Arkansas with Pastor Gary Mitchell officiating. He will be laid to rest at Stoney Point Cemetery Beebe Ar.
Pallbearers: Jeramy Greenawalt, Jimmy Greenawalt, Joey Greenawalt, John M. Stralka, Jeff Stralka, Matt Dugger, Honorary Pallbearers: Eric Pruitt and David Taylor.
