Houston ?Sonny? Rouse, 82, of Sherwood passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009. He was born November 22, 1926 in Carlisle, Arkansas to Neal and Jessie Pearson Rouse. He was a member of Sherwood First Baptist Church and a retired switchman for the Rock Island Railroad/Union Pacific with 35 years service. After retirement he worked as maintenance contractor for Bentley Apartments.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and David Watson, of Sherwood and Lynn and Chuck Townsend, of Little Rock; son, Neal Rouse, of Lonoke; six grandchildren, Whitney Watson, Tricia and Christy Riley, Joe Rouse, Heather and Amber Townsend; and two sisters, Rachel Young, of North Little Rock and Louise Scott, of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Millie Rouse; his parents; three sisters and his brother.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Stephen Tilley and staff, Dr. Mazher and staff, Michelle and Sarah with Baptist Home Health and Peggy, Shirley and Ariel with Baptist Hospice.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with a 3:00 P.M., committal service at Hamilton Cemetery, Carlisle, Arkansas.
