Howard retired after many years of dedicated service to the Kroger Company. After his retirement, he enjoyed crafting walking sticks, many of which he provided to survivors of cancer or other tragedy’s. He was a member of River Road Church and served his community for over forty-five years as a member of the Redfield Volunteer Fire Department. He got his start when the fire brigade was all female. The pump truck had a hand-operated siren, that didn’t allow for the driver to operate it. Howard’s sister recruited him to drive the truck so she could work the siren, and he never left. He will forever be remembered as a loving and hardworking husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Howard was at his happiest when he was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Elaine Carmical and brother, Spencer Carmical.
