Hugh M. Seanard, Jr., age 82, of Searcy, Arkansas, was born August 26, 1926, at Monette, Arkansas, to Hugh M. and Treascie Meurer Seanard, and he died Tuesday, October 28, 2008. He was an Army veteran of WWII, and was retired from Sperry-Vickers. Hugh was a member and Deacon of West Race Baptist Church in Searcy, a member of the Searcy American Legion Post 350 and was currently serving as Sergeant of Arms.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lloyd Seanard and L. G. Seanard; two sisters, Maxine Sadler and Juanita Growsky. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Lucille Boyd Seanard; special nephew and niece, Charles Merritt and Joyce Ann Howell; brothers Eugene Seanard of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, W. R. Seanard of Gillette, Texas and J. A. Seanard of Dana, Illinois; three sisters, Winsella Busbea of North Little Rock, Geneva Selvidge of Searcy and Nettie Jo Kiss of Jacksonville.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2008, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
