Hulet Gunter

Hulet A. "Red" Gunter, 89, of North Little Rock Arkansas passed away May 3, 2017. He was born to Make and Icy Gunter on June 7, 1927.
Hulet is survived by his daughter, Kim Heath (Dave); grandchildren, Charles Hull, Pamela Ball, Steven Fields, Jason Fields, Justin Smith, Dallas Rush and Raven Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Alma Mullins, Dorothy Blasingame, and Margie Swopes; and children, Kenneth Gunter, Linda Lucas, and Bobby Smith.
Red was a hard-working man and loved by so many. He was a born servant and loved to help people. He started off his work life very early by having to quit school to help out with the family farm, he later started working in the excavation world digging pipe lines and installing the utilities of the cities and towns all over Arkansas. There was a point in his career when he traveled from Texas to Mobile, Alabama and Shreveport, Louisiana working in the oil field watching the motor houses and rigs that pumped crude oil. After working in the oil field he moved back to Arkansas and worked for many major excavation contractors. He retired while working for Bostic excavation out of Little Rock, where he cleared building lots and helped dig foundations to build some of the most prestigious homes in Central Arkansas.
He had working hands but a heart of gold, and he wouldn't put up with anyone being treated unfairly. He would do anything for just about anyone and literally give you the shirt off his back. He didn't find treasures in the things of this earth but more importantly by the relationships he built. He honored his marriage vows to his wife Darlene Gunter who passed away several years ago, we all know he's happy to be reunited. Red did more than just raise his own kids. He helped raise many others, including grandkids and many that weren't even related, by instilling important values and principles into their life. He will surely be missed by many but we are very happy to know that he is home and comfortable with his Father in heaven.
