Iantha C. (Ann) Hoffmann, 97, of Little Rock died August 18, 2026. Her beloved husband, Ronald, her parents and four siblings preceded her in death. Born in Baden, Mo., near St. Louis, to Edward and Henrietta Frederick Reuter, she was named Iantha for the midwife who helped deliver her Jan. 20, 1929.
As a young girl, Ann worked in her father's tavern in Oakville, Mo. A graduate of Hancock High School in nearby Lemay, she married Ron in 1949, and the couple moved to Little Rock in 1952, where they raised two boys. Ann was an excellent cook, avid bridge player and competitive bowler. She and Ron loved playing tennis, cheering on St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Notre Dame football, working crossword puzzles, cooking out, cocktails, reading and taking road trips together after retirement. She missed Ron every day after his death in 1998. Ann actively lived her Catholic faith at Our Lady of Good Counsel and Our Lady of Holy Souls, where she and Ron helped organize the church seniors group. They also volunteered together at St. Vincent Infirmary.
Ann made new friends throughout her life, including at her final home in Woodland Heights assisted living. She was grateful for the care, compassion and love she received from the nursing staff and enjoyed the camaraderie of bingo, music and "happy hour." Gentiva Hospice offered her comfort and companionship in her final months. Ann is survived by two sons, Stephen (Linda) and Garry (Margaret); five grandchildren, Julia (Seth), Brett (Amy), Christine (Jake), Kent (Ashley), and Allison (Steven); and 10 great-grandchildren, Shelby, Piper, Reid, Avery, Paxton, Lyla, Shepard, Clayton, Levi and Lincoln.
A Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church.
Memorials may be made to Catholic High School for Boys or the Carmel of St. Teresa of Jesus monastery, both in Little Rock.
