Irish Kelly Alcott

Irish Kelly Alcott, 71, passed away on December 27th at 7:30 a.m. She was born on June 11, 1954, in Patterson, New Jersey and lived in Waldwick and Matawan, New Jersey. She graduated from Matawan Regional High School and attended Manmouth Vocational School of Cosmetology. Irish married William Alcott of Jacksonville, Arkansas in 1998 and they moved to Beebe, Arkansas just a few years later.

Irish contracted polio at the age of 3 and spent 3 ½ years in an iron lung and the rest of her life fighting either the polio or the Post Polio Syndrome (PPS) that followed in later years. She spent many hours searching for books about Post Polio Syndrome, buying them and passing them out to doctors and other medical folks to help them understand better just what PPS is and how to deal with it.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W Dewitt Henry, Beebe.
