Iva Mae Porterfield Launius, 87, of Sparkman, died Wednesday at Arkadelphia.  She was born July 12, 1918, at Rolla, AR.  Her parents were Milton "Doc" and Katie Porterfield, and a step-mother, Gracie Porterfield. 
 
She was a loving homemaker and a faithful Christian, and was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church near Sparkman.  She was preceedeed in death by her husband, Cecil Edwin Launius, a daughter, Pat Stringfellow, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters. 
 
Survivors include 3 sons, Thomas Launius and wife Delores of Fouke, AR, Larry Launius and wife Pat of Doddridge, AR, and Bobby Launius and wife Stephanie of Camden;  2 daughters Betty Wilkins and husband Mike of Sparkman, and Kate Carter and husband Buddy of Monticello;  one son-in-law Bill Stringfellow; 2 brothers Charles & Loy Porterfield of Malvern; 2 sisters Ann Johnson of Arkadelphia, and Ruth Newton of Malvern;  44 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral Services will be Friday 2:00 PM at the Ruggles- Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Arkadelphia with The Rev. Jeremy Horton officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday 6-8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be her Grandsons.  Burial will be in the Sparkman Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Shady Grove Baptist Church, Sparkman, AR.
