J. D. Nowlin, age 89, of Arkadelphia, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his home. He was born March 8, 1924 the son of the late Luther Lee and Emma Martin Nowlin. J. D. was a retired automobile mechanic, an U. S. Air Force veteran of WW II and a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church. He especially enjoyed raising a garden.
Survivors are his wife of over sixty-five years, Rebecca Nowlin; one daughter. Ann Murphy of Arkadelphia; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Patrick and Jennifer Arnold; ten great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 13th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery near Sparkman. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
