Jack Digby

Jack Digby of Arkadelphia, AR, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2024.  


He was born April 25, 1940, in Arkadelphia, AR, to the late Tom and Ernie Robbins Digby. His sister Reba Nichols, brother Rodney Digby, and Brother-in-Law Mahlon Tolleson preceded him in death. Jack is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Judith Grissom Digby, sons Jack Digby II and wife Maleece, Jody Digby and wife Brandi, grandsons Hunter Digby and Jaxon Digby, and granddaughter Bristal Digby. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Heatwole and Tommy Means, one brother, Raymond Digby and wife Della, and Sister-in-Law Sylvia Tolleson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Jack had many jobs growing up from paperboy, making croquet balls to working at Ouachita horse stables and the Texaco Bulk Plant. He attended both Ouachita Baptist University and Henderson State University, and he graduated from Baptist Radiologic Technology School in Little Rock at the top of his class. He worked over 34 years as the Director of Radiology at Baptist Health in Arkadelphia. He was a faithful member and elder of New Life Church in Arkadelphia, AR since its inception. He dearly loved his family as shown in his daily life. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and traveling with his family across the United States with the Smoky Mountains as his favorite. He especially enjoyed playing his guitar at church, home, and other gatherings. He would spend hours playing his guitar along to Chet Atkins, gospel, and music from the 50’s.


Visitation will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at New Life Church in Arkadelphia, AR. The funeral service will be immediately after at 11:00 am, also at New Life Church, with the Rev. Martin Jones officiating. Jack will be laid to rest at Bethlehem Cemetery in Joan.


Pallbearers are Jackie Digby, Jody Digby, Hunter Digby, Jaxon Digby, Keith Runyan, Larry Rivas, Ronnie Barham, and Jeremy Jones. Honorary Pallbearers are Raymond Digby and Dennis Toland.
