Jack Ronald Pittman, 76, of Benton, Arkansas passed away peacefully on June 4, 2023. Jack was born on December 4, 1946 to the late Jack Pittman and Marie (Lutrell) Pittman.
Jack loved to play golf, poker, and he enjoyed traveling to find warmer weather. His family was the world to him and he would always be there if they needed anything.
After graduating from Bosse High School in Evansville, Indiana, Jack joined the Marine Corps. During his time in the Marines, he fought in the Vietnam War and saw some of the worst fighting of the entire war. On multiple occasions, his unit engaged in hand to hand combat. During his service as a Marine, he was with Bravo 1/1 (First Battalion, First Marines). Jack was a true American hero. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Jack retired in 2008 after working for the Postal Service for about 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marie Pittman.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela (Pittman) Arrowood; son, Adam Pittman; grandchildren Autumn, Lucas, and Noah; brother, Mark Pittman; sisters Donna (Ron) Ludwig, Bonnie Stillwell and Leah Knight; long-time girlfriend, Esther Johnson, as well as a host of family members and friends who will all miss him dearly.
