Jackie Noel Norris passed on January 19, 2026. He was born on March 7th in 1945 to Raymond S Norris and Emma Wheelis Norris in Newark, Arkansas. After graduating Newark High School 1962, He attended Arkansas State University until joined the United States Marine Corp. While in the Marines he worked as an Aircraft Mechanic. He worked for White Rodgers in Batesville, Arkansas, Eastman in Magness, Arkansas and Frank A Rodgers in Newport, Arkansas. After retirement, he owned and operated sparking Car Care in Magnet Cove, Arkansas where his love of anything with a motor allowed him to gain the reputation of one of the best auto detailers around.
Jack loved all things with cars from dirt tracks, classic cars to NASCAR. He especially loved drag racing and spent many Sunday afternoons at the drag strip in Newport. Many Sundays were also well spent in his navy-blue rocking recliner watching the Nascar race or the Barret-Jackson Auto Show. Anyone who knew Jack also knew his love for a good ole classic cheeseburger and strawberry milkshake. Many of those combos were enjoyed at Moores Dairy Bar in Newark, Arkansas or Braums in Sulphur, Oklahoma.
He was a Baptist and a member of Magnet Cove Missionary Baptist Church. He proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Bob and Bill Norris, and sister Bettye Baker.
Jackie is survived by three daughters, Vickie Wish of Davis, California, Leah (Jon) Carter of Sheridan, Arkansas and Dannah Norris of Searcy, Arkansas and one son, Michael Tinsley of Davis, California. He is survived by his siblings Madeline (Bob) of Batesville, Arkansas, Mildred Brewer of Newark, Arkansas and Paul (Nancy) and Wichita, Kansas. Jack leaves behind 5 beautiful grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a host of nephews and nieces and many friends he met during his long life.
A memorial will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock on Monday, March 23rd at 9AM.
