Jake Ellis

Jake Ellis, 69, of Beebe, Arkansas was born January 28, 1942 and passed away August 15, 2011. He attended Beebe Public Schools and went to 1st Baptist Church of Beebe. Jake enjoyed being with his family and socializing with his close friends. He was a well known gentleman who loved and enjoyed playing Santa for local nursing homes, fixing computers, playing guitar and going to yard sales. He will be truly loved and missed!
Survivors include his loving wife, Carolyn Ellis; one daughter, Gloria Thompson and Keith Thompson of Florida; one son, Howard Caples and Devona Caples of Ward; daughter-in-law, Kerri Selvidge; five grandchildren, Jessica, Jillian, Aaron, Mykala and Walter, Jr.; one great-grandchild, Ashlynn Marie. He is also survived by sisters and brothers, Clem Essigner of Dardanelle, Betty Redding of Beebe and Helen Bulice of Cabot.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Selvidge and Ethel Pate; his son, Walter Selvidge; daughter Francis Selvidge; and brothers and sisters, Jack Essigner, Mary King, Wanda Mullins and Peggy McBride.
A memorial service will be at the Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe, Wednesday, August 17 at 10:00 am.
