James dedicated many years of his life as a department manager at Wal-Mart, a role that underscored his commitment to hard work and service. In more recent years, he channeled his expertise into installing seating and equipment in school gymnasiums, further contributing to his community in meaningful ways. His pursuit of knowledge culminated in a welding certification from Ouachita Technical College, which he carried with pride throughout his life.
Affectionately known as "Uncle Paw Paw" by his nieces and nephews, James had a unique ability to brighten the lives of those around him. He was known for his distinctive way of engaging with family and friends, often punctuating conversations with his favorite phrase, "I'll tell you what...." This simple expression would lead to delightful discussions that were filled with humor and insight.
A true outdoorsman, James found joy in fishing and hunting, relishing the moments he spent in nature. He was a proud redneck man who loved God, firearms, fast cars, and riding his motorcycle, proudly displaying his patriotic spirit. His life was deeply intertwined with his family, which meant everything to him. James was a handyman at heart, always tinkering with cars, and he had a knack for fixing just about anything.
James is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Branda Blakley of Bauxite, Arkansas; his son, Kaylor Blakley of Bauxite, Arkansas; his father, Bobby Dale Blakley of Benton, Arkansas; his sisters, Laura Chaloner of Benton, Arkansas, and Kim Cecil of Jacksonville, Arkansas; and his brother, Robert Blakley (Kelly) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was also the proud owner of a giant pit bull he adored, named Miss Piggy, who brought him immense joy.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Carol (Mullinax) Blakley; twin daughters, Kayla and Kara Blakley; an infant brother; his beloved grandparents; and several furry companions: Ellie, Devin, Dex, and Dom.
