James Brock

Listen to Obituary

James Albert Brock went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2026, at the age of 75. He was born on August 28, 1950, in Zachary, Louisiana to his parents Jessie Brock and Dorothy Puljo. He served years in the Navy during the Vietnam era where he was a combat nurse.

James never met a stranger. He welcomed anyone and everyone with open arms. You could almost always find him wearing his signature overalls, enjoying something good to eat, with his beloved dog, Miss Penny, riding in her special carrying purse.

He found great peace at his second home, Heber Springs, AR, where he fished the little Red River with all his friends.

He lived life with the most generous heart, a welcoming spirit, and a deep appreciation for family, friends, good food, loyal companionship, and the outdoors.

James is survived by his life partner of over a decade, Vicki Brooks, his daughter Jaime Brock, stepdaughters Carri Winn (Keith), Crystal Romine (Ritchie), grandchild Joel Simoneaux, step grandchildren Tessi Ryan (Adam), Jeremy Bentley (Taylar), Caleb Castleberry (Brooklyn), Courtney Jackson (Cody), Cody Bozeman (Lauren), step great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Presley Sisk, Zaniyah, Vincent, and Kingsley Castleberry, Tatum Jackson, and Emilia Bozeman, and host of cousins and friends who will cherish the memories they shared with him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his two infant brothers, his brother Benny Brock, and his sister Jesse Brock.

His legacy will live on in the people he taught to fish and in the recipes he shared like his famous baked beans. He will truly be missed.
