The family of James Lewis Brookman is saddened to announce his passing on May 28th at his home in Norman, Arkansas, at the age of 84. He was born in Washington, D.C., on March 6th, 1942, to Anna Ruth Keys Brookman and

James Henry Brookman. He graduated from Washington Lee High School in Arlington, VA. Jim joined the Air Force and was stationed at Mitchell Air Force Base in New York. After leaving the service, he found a career working for the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center, from which he retired. He moved from Colorado in 2000 to be closer to his children in Arkansas.

Jim was known for his love for bowling, collecting (especially hurricane lamps and model trains), and spending time with family and friends. Whether you knew him as brother, Dad, Grandpa, Butch, or Cowboy, he will be remembered as a friend and will be greatly missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister Beverly Rampey and her family, his brother Rev. Robert Brookman, his daughter Paula Brookman Jester - husband Randy and children Derek and Star, his son Richard James Brookman - children Sebastion and Samantha, his stepsons: Russell Willoughby - wife Amee & children - R.J, Summer and Mason and Grandson Abel, Jason Garrett - wife - Rolna & daughter Leah, and Bradley Garrett.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 6th, at 2:30 pm in the chapel at Smith Family Funeral Home in Glenwood. All who knew him are invited to attend.
