James David Childers Sr. age 74 of Delight, AR died Friday, November 15, 2013. He was born June 21, 1939 in Okolona, AR the son of James Quinton and Opal Childers. He was a retired Veteran of the United States Army serving from December 1961 till January 1982. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Williams Childers and a son James David Childers Jr.
Survivors include one son, Cristo Childers and his wife Brittany of Murfreesboro, three daughters, Ivey Denise Rhodes and her husband Jimmy, Theresa Bradshaw and her husband James all of Delight, and Laquinta Childers of Murfreesboro, twelve grandchildren, Hunter, Davy, Tiffanee, Jase, and Kristin Childers, Robin and Jimmy Rhodes Jr., Christian Scudder, Lena Bradshaw, Kala Moore, Curtis Markham and Leann Kelley, and 11 great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday, November 19 in the Smyrna Cemetery with Rev. Jim Henderson officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
