James "Jim" Roberson Cross, a loving husband, father, brother, son and cherished friend, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at age 56. He was born on July 20, 1956 in Lake Village, Arkansas to Arthur R. and V.V. Thomas Cross of McGehee, and moved to Little Rock in early childhood. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School and Pulaski County Vo-Tech.
Since 1986, he worked for the U.S. Veterans Administration information technology department at Fort Roots Hospital. He previously worked for a number of prestigious businesses, including Falcon Jet, Mid-Coast Aviation and Page Avjet, Computronics, First Pyramid Life Insurance and Southern Technical College.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arthur R. Cross III. Survivors are his wife, Martha Busby Cross; sons, Carl Vincent Cross and Greg Cross; his brother, Carl Cross and wife, Lisa; nephews, Scott and Brian Cross; and extended family and friends.
The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Joseph M. Beck II and his staff, St. Vincent Infirmary, Arkansas Hospice caregivers, Mike O'Baugh and Jim's co-workers at the Veterans Administration.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Friday, October 5, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1700 Napa Valley Dr., in Little Rock, followed by the service at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. David Moore presiding.
