James Dailey

James Dailey was born July 13, 1924 in McRae, Arkansas, the son of William and Gertrude Dailey. He has two sisters Adeline Bearden and Freda Smith. He was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Morris and a brother, Carl, who was in the Navy.

All of James' early education was in McRae. After High School graduation, he attended University of Central Arkansas in Conway. His year at UCA was interrupted by a 30-month tour of duty in the U.S. Navy. After he earned his degree from UCA and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, he coached and taught in several schools in Arkansas.

James met Liz at a school dance at UCA. They dated awhile and then married March 10, 1950. They have a son, Steve and also a daughter, Beth, whose husband is Wynne Lane. Meredith Lane is his only granddaughter.

James worked in the State Rehab office for about twenty years. He retired and he and Liz lived in Arkansas until they decided to go, with their daughter's advice, to Pantego Waterford, Texas in November, 2010. He was of the Methodist faith.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2012, at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
