James Glen Berry, Jr.

James "Jimmy" Glen Berry, Jr., of Landmark, joined his Heavenly Father on September 28, 2022 at the age of 67.

A 1972 graduate of Lower Richland High School in South Carolina, Jimmy immediately joined the Navy where he spent many years proudly serving his country. Upon his return, he worked in construction with his father, learning various skills along the way that would make him a very "handy man" in all that he did. He loved sports: playing, watching, coaching. But at the end of the day, Jimmy was a Florida Gator superfan.

In his free time, you would always find him watching or going to the movies, studying end times Bible prophecy and playing around his grandchildren, whom he adored. He spent countless hours with his grandchildren at playgrounds while they were young, and on any basketball court with their friends as they grew older. James was Papi not only to his grandchildren, but to all. He loved to be outside. He loved to ride road bikes with his sons and would also ride a stationary bike for hours in his home. He was carefree and his boisterous laugh echoed signaling his presence.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Coralene Berry of Columbia, South Carolina; sons, Jimmy Berry (Shelly) of East End and Jesse Berry of Mabelvale; stepson Will Hinzman of Little Rock; stepdaughter Megan Gaskins of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren James Berry, Jared Berry, Aysha Berry, Julianna Price, and Emma Gaskins; siblings Trisha Berry of Columbia, South Carolina, Toni Lynn Costenbader of Winnsboro, South Carolina, and David Berry of Columbia, South Carolina; and special nieces and nephews Sean Berry, Joshua Sharpe, and Vickie Davis; and a host of rescued dogs.

The family will host a memorial service at East Union Missionary Baptist Church in East End on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10:00am with interment following at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock at 12:00pm.
