James Harrison

James Monroe (Jim) Harrison, age 60, of the Brown Springs Community, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at his home. He was born December 20, 1953 to Dolphus and Anna Belle Harrison. He was raised in Union Lake, Michigan, and attended Walled Lake School System. Jim's family moved to Arkansas during his junior year and he graduated from Sheridan High School.

Jim served in the Arkansas Army National Guard, served on the Board of Directors for the Brown Springs/Mt. Moriah Outreach Center and was a member of Anchor Baptist Church. He was a Millwright, Welder and Truck Driver. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, gardening and visiting with his buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolphus and Anna Belle Harrison.

Survivors are his wife, Pat Harrison; daughter, Angelia Butt (Fred) of Malvern; step-daughter, Pam Coston (David) of Malvern; grandsons, Cole Wesolowski and Nathan Butt both of Malvern; step-granddaughter, Sydney Phillips of Malvern; sister, Barbara Schodowski (Gene) of Malvern; brother, Joseph Harrison (Sandra) of Branson, Missouri; half-sister, Janice Phillips (David) of Greensburg, Indiana; a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 4th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Pastors James Blackwood, Jessie Newborn and Caleb Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery at Brown Springs. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Whitley, Kevin Whitley, Kenneth Morrison, Roy Morrison, Doug Edwards, Bruce Hixon, Matt Williams and Glenn Kratz. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Herrington and Raymond Schultz.
