James Henry Ingram

James Henry Ingram, age 74, died August 9, 2023, after suffering through cancer.

Jim was predeceased by his parents; step-parents; brother, Neal Ingram; sister, Nancy Ingram; and step-brother Pat Stamper. He is survived by his nephew Jake Ingram and his wife Tracy, his niece Sara and her husband Steve, and step-brother Mike Stamper. They were all very special to Jim. He is also survived by his special friend, April, in Las Vegas, where he had a second home.

Jim was a certified public accountant and was very proud of his profession. Jim practiced as a C.P.A. for over 50 years in Little Rock. He was a straight A student, and graduated at the top of his class, obtaining his degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas in 1971. During one of his college summers he worked for the Carnival on the “Bonnie and Clyde Get Away Car Exhibit” with many fun experiences.

After graduation Jim moved to Little Rock, took the C.P.A. exam, and passed it the first time, which was a rare accomplishment for the time. He then went to work for Russell Brown & Co., one of the large Little Rock C.P.A. Firms. Jim & Russell Brown were the only ones in the firm at that time to have passed the C.P.A. Exam the first time. Jim later went into practice with David Hyatt, forming Ingram and Hyatt for many years.

Jim was a conservative person in his practice, his politics, and his life with the exception of slot machines, Kool Menthols, and Scotch. He was very straightforward person, and if you asked him a question, he would give an answer and did not pull any punches. He was no nonsense but had a very quick wit to him.

Jim had many special friends at the Mickel Law Firm to include Steve, Cecila, Crystal, Renee, Jim, Stephen, and Christie. He tried to give them the benefit of some of his vast knowledge and wisdom. All his friends and clients will miss a very special person.
