Listen to Obituary

James “Jim” A. Hall, aged 79, of North Little Rock, passed away on October 20, 2026. Born on August 5, 1947, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to the late John Wiley and Genimae Hall, Jim's life was a rich tapestry of love, adventure, and dedication.

Jim pursued a vibrant life filled with passions—from his love of golf and fishing to cheering for the Razorbacks and a master handicapper of thoroughbred horse racing. His career began in the concrete business in 1976, a field he dedicated himself to until retirement. Unsatisfied with idle time, Jim embraced new roles as an Uber driver and real estate agent.

A favorite retreat for Jim and his beloved wife Shirley was trips to The Gulf Coast. There they enjoyed walks on the beach, relaxing and eating at favorite seafood restaurants. Jim and Shirley shared countless moments working in the yard together and walking around the Lake at the Old Mill. Above all, Jim cherished time with his children growing up, and then his grandchildren, never missing an event of theirs.

An alumnus of ASU Jonesboro and a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, Jim's stories enriched the lives of many, often told with warmth and a touch of humor. Known for his open heart and welcoming nature, he made friends effortlessly wherever he went.

Jim's love for history and reading was matched by his dedication to family. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry Hall, He leaves behind his devoted wife, Shirley; his son, Brandon (Sarah); daughter, Lyndsay Felton (Tim); cherished grandchildren Taylor Brewer (Andi), Avery Perez (Ceasar), Amery, Beatrix Hall, Brady, and Landrey Felton; great-granddaughter Gabriella Perez; nephew, Bryan Hall; and his faithful companion, Sadie.

Jim's legacy as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and genuine friend endures in the hearts of all who knew him.
