James "Jimmy" Lock, age 78, of Glenwood, died Thursday, February 21, 2013. He was born on May 16, 1934 in Porchmouth, New Hampshire, the son of Stanley Lock and Emma Mae Merrill Lock. On April 25, 1954, he was married to Lonetta Ledbetter. In earlier years, Jimmy was a co-owner of Pike County Furniture, worked for Charles Forga Land and Timber and as a security guard for Bean Lumber Company. After becoming certified as a law enforcement officer, he served as Glenwood City Marshall and as a Pike County Deputy Sheriff. He was a member and deacon of the Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lonetta Lock of Glenwood; three children and their spouses, Debbie and George Howell of Glenwood, Mike Lock of Caddo Gap and Lori and Ricky White of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren and their spouses, Kinzie and Randy Bour, Nathan and Casey Howell, Sara and Travis Branch, Lorra Stinson, Josh and Wendy White and Kent and Katelin White; six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Gunnar, Aden, Ansley, Joley and Jasey; two brothers, Gordon Lock and Richard Lock both of Glenwood; two sisters, Ginger Self of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Juanita Axelsen of Portland, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 24, 2013, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Jim Ivy and Bro. Bruce Tidwell officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Caddo Gap. Pallbearers will be Bobby Lock, Donald Lock, Ben Lock, Billy Lock, John Ledbetter and Mike Wilson. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
