James Johnson

James Edward "Joe" Johnson, Jr., 53, of North Little Rock passed away to his Heavenly home on January 10, 2017. He was born on January 8, 1964, in Miami, Florida to James "Joe" and LaReva Johnson. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church in North Little Rock.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, James Edward "Joe", Sr. He is survived by his mother, LaReva Johnson Mayo, his stepfather, Delbert Mayo; brothers Dale Johnson of North Little Rock and Mark Shelby, Sr. (Rhonda) of Conway; sisters Theresa Crowder and Lisa Spigner (Mike) of North Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
Joe was a graduate of Northeast High School and Pulaski Technical College. He was licensed plumber.
Joe will be remembered for his hearty laugh, his zest for life, a mischievous sense of humor, and his great love of the outdoors. He said that his idea of a perfect day was one spent in his boat with the fish biting. He passed his love of fishing on to a host of nieces and nephews, both by birth and honorary.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 14, at Calvary Baptist Church, 5025 Lynch Drive in North Little Rock. The family will receive visitors at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
