James Edmund Kennedy

James Edmund Kennedy, age 60, of Norman passed away on July 17th, 2024. Born on January 23rd,1964 in Kansas City, MO to Caz and Linda Kennedy.

 He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kay Kennedy Stigall.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Laura Kennedy; his son, Adam(Christie) Kennedy; fur grandchildren, Mickey and Sissy; His brothers, Geno Kennedy and Jimmy(Amy) Kennedy; his sister, Shoshonna(Phil) Clemons; his nephews, Cody(Caitlyn) Benfield, Jack(Cierra) Benfield, and Nick Atrozskin; brother-in-law, Mike(Laura) Stigall and sister-in-law, Janet Irwin as well as extended nieces, nephews, a great-nephew and a host of family and friends.

James was in the military in the Army National Guard for 13 1/2 years. He was a long distance truck driver for 20 years and went by Killer. James never met a stranger and would talk to anyone who would listen. He was an avid storyteller, whether it be the truth or stretched some. He enjoyed helping people, hunting, fishing, building computers, and being with his family and friends. James loved to spoil his dogs; Winston, Foxy, and Rosie. James enjoyed spending time with his wife Laura and pestering her to no end. He also spent as much time with his son Adam that he could, James was proud of his family.

A visitation will take place on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home Glenwood.
