James "Jim" Lynn

Faith played a significant role in Jim's life. He was a member of Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church, and he also attended Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. His unwavering commitment led him to be ordained as a Deacon—a position he held proudly for more than fifty years.  Throughout his career as a brick mason, he left an indelible mark on numerous buildings in Hot Springs and beyond.

Jim was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1951. He arrived in Korea in April of 1952. He Served for 11 months in the Korean War, attaining the rank of Corporal. He served as a gunner on a 57mm recoilless rife and later a squad leader in the 8th Infantry Regiment. He Participated in action at Arrowhead Ridge (Hill 281) and T-Bone Hill.

Outside of work, Jim found solace in the simple joys of life. As an avid outdoorsman, he reveled in the thrill of hunting and fishing.  When not exploring the great outdoors, Jim indulged in his love for Western culture. He found delight in watching Western movies and particularly enjoyed getting lost within the vivid worlds created by Louis L'Amour in his renowned Western novels.

He is survived by his son, Darrell Lynn; his daughter and son-in-law, Tina (Perry) Allison; three grandchildren, Jessica Burchfield, Dakota (Gretchan) Lynn, and Crystal Mazzola; as well as seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

The pallbearers will be Larry Garibay, Dwight Weeks, Wendall Burrow, Darrell Lynn, Aaron Watkins, and Randy Hill.

The family would like to thank Eden Endrulat from Sunrise Senior Care, as well as Lori Hefley and Gina Miller with Dirksen Hospice.
