James Meister

James (Jim) Thomas Meister, age 78, of Little Rock, died on Monday, May 15, 2017. Jim was born December 27, 1938 in Fargo, ND. He served in United States Air Force at Little Rock Air Force Base where he met his soulmate Carol. They married on June 7, 1957. Jim graduated from Little Rock University (now UALR) in 1962 and began his career into sales and management of a large computer systems corporation.
Jim was active in Gideons and served as president of West Little Rock Kiwanis Club. Jim was an avid hunter and gunsmith and enjoyed using his beautiful voice to narrate and sing in the choir. His first loves were God and his family and teaching The Seekers Sunday School Class at Geyer Springs 1st Baptist Church. His first priority was always to the Lord and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Little Rock; daughters, Cathy Melton (Ray) of Pensacola, Florida, Karen Brown (Mike) of Southaven, MS, and son, J.T. Meister, Jr. (Ginger) of Little Rock; grandchildren, Meghan, Steven, Colton, Jamie and Anna Scott, Jennifer Armstrong (Michael) of Bartlett, TN and one great granddaughter, Madison. He is also survived by his brother, Charles (Jeannette) of Pensacola, Florida, brother-in-law, Robert Brown (Shirley) of North Little Rock, and many nieces and nephews who loved him.
Services will be Saturday, May 20 at 2:00 p.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 1:00, at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Max Pyron.
