James Robert "Bob" Moddrell

James Robert “Bob” Moddrell, Jr., passed away on November 8, 2025, at the Lakes of Maumelle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on May 17, 1949, in Long Beach, California where he graduated from Gahr High School and attended 2 years of college in electronics.

After moving to Arkansas, he worked with his dad at Moddrell Distribution before closing. Among his jobs he enjoyed being a volunteer fireman for Sylvan Hills Volunteer Fire Department which is known as Sherwood Fire Department today. For several years he transported railroad crews across the state, which he thoroughly enjoyed as well. Bob enjoyed his employment with Suitcase Solutions at the Clinton National Airport traveling the state delivering misplaced luggage and meeting many wonderful people along the way.

In 1976 he married Linda A. Moddrell with whom he spent 49 years joyous years. He is also survived by his only son, Brian R. Moddrell of Maumelle. He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. Moddell, Sr., and Gloria Hanson.

Bob’s hobbies were woodworking and collecting coins.
