James "Jim" Lee Motl

James "Jim" Lee Motl, age 63, of Maumelle, AR, peacefully entered eternal rest on September 4, 2023.

Born on September 4, 1960, Jim was the fifth of six children born to Donald and Marie (Kalis) Motl in Worthington, Minnesota. Jim pursued his education at Worthington High School, Worthington Community College, and St. Cloud State University.

From a young age, Jim understood the value of hard work as he and his siblings aided their parents in running the local Coast to Coast hardware store in Worthington. Simultaneously, he discovered his lifelong passion on the golf course, where he displayed exceptional skill, ultimately becoming a PGA Golf Professional.

For nearly two decades, Jim shared his golf expertise and love for the game at Maumelle Country Club. He served as an Assistant Golf Professional and later as the Head Golf Professional for over a decade. Jim's dedication was evident as he spent countless hours providing lessons and engaging in friendly competitions on the course.

Jim concluded his working career as an office manager at Downtown Dental Care for 11 years and North Shore Family Dental Care for 5 years. Throughout his life, Jim was quick to lend his expertise and a helping hand to friends and family, no matter the project. Not only was he a skilled handyman and an accomplished golfer, but he also became proficient in pool maintenance. Above all, Jim cherished the opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds in every job he undertook.

To know Jim was to love him. He embraced life, welcomed challenges, reveled in the outdoors, and held his family dear.

Jim's unwavering faith remained a cornerstone of his life. Even in the face of adversity, he maintained a positive outlook. He was a proud member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in North Little Rock.

Jim is survived by his beloved son, Jonathan (Shanna) Motl, of Coffeyville, Kansas; two adored grandchildren, Bennett Motl and Leslie Motl; siblings, Kathleen (Barry) Ramey of LeSueur, MN; Rick (Connie) Motl of Zephyrhills, FL; Jeanne (Robert) Van Drasek of St. Michael, MN; Jo (Peter) Lepse of Topeka, KS; close friend and caregiver Robert Davis, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
