James E. Nix Jr. age 85 of Arkadelphia died Wednesday, November 18, 2009. He was born November 8, 1924 in Clark County the son of James E. and Nancy Ann Hudman Nix. He was a retired logging contractor and cattle farmer. Mr. Nix was a United States Navy veteran of WWII and a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Cagle Nix, two daughters, Dianne McKin and husband Charles of Gurdon and Beverly Bridges and husband Brent of Arkadelphia, 4 grandchildren, Nanette Malone, Brian McKin, Amy Babb and Sara Recktenwald, and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy Turner officiating with burial in the Copeland Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Copeland Ridge Cemetery c/o Don Cagle, 370 Shakertown Rd, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
